Our prenatal sessions prepared me for labor and birth, which were both informative and relaxing. I didn’t end a session feeling like it was unnecessary as I learned something new every time. Nia provided clarity with each question I asked, as well as any options/updates I was given, which was needed since I was a little nervous. During labor and birth, she remained calm and alert as she took in information from the nurses and doctors. I would have her as my doula again, as my pregnancy and birth experience was enhanced by her presence. It felt like I had a doula and friend wrapped in one.”

“Nia was a huge blessing when it came to bringing our little man into this world!! The education that she provided during our prenatal sessions really made us comfortable going into delivery. One of the best things was the prenatal massage!! Heaven on my body!! My plan was to go all natural but our son made that extremely difficult. After 12.5 hrs of contractions every 2 minutes lasting anywhere from 30sec to 90sec I was completely tapped out. To find out that he started making his way back up was extremely discouraging too!! I cried because I caved and asked for the epidural, it made me feel weak. Having Nia and my husband telling me I was strong, I did what was best for me, and that I was still powerful meant the world to me! Nia helped bring our little man into this world, she was the perfect person for us!!”

“This was my partner’s and I first so coming into this we knew having someone like Nia by our side was important. Nia was on top of it. She asked the right questions to doctor and nurses. When I felt uneasy she knew exactly what to say/do to make me calm. “I knew early on that I wanted to hire a doula for the education and advocacy that come with their profession. Being considered "geriatric" and well aware of the Black maternal mortality rate, I wanted to put myself in the best position possible of course, barring any unexpected circumstances. After searching online for a Black doula (my preference) in our immediate area and having no luck, I decided to reach out to Nia and found out she offered virtual doula services. Although it would've been great to have an in-person doula, Tony and I realized the education aspect was most important for us. We participated in several virtual sessions with Nia throughout my pregnancy.

Fast forward to my labor, Nia was there via phone, text, & Facetime and worked with us through all of our questions & concerns. For those who don't know, what we thought would be a typical 2-3 day stay turned into a week. Every time the doctor or nurse came in to discuss something new, we would reach out to Nia for more information or just to talk it through with her. She was amazing!
